Twitter Off!
By Paul Bard
To tweet or not to tweet - that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the minds to suffer the tweets and twitters of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of twitters, and by opposing end them? To tweet, to twitter No more, and by a tweet to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural followers that twitter is heir to, tis a desire devoutly to be wished. To wit, perchance to tweet, ay there's the rub, for in that tweet of death, what tweets may come when we have shuffled off this mortal thread? (Apologies to Hamlet) The beauty of William Shakespeare is that he can resound into modern times, and a contemporary tailor can cut the cloth according to the fashion. Twitter is a phenomenon that has hypnotised the world, it is a drug which has permitted inane chatter from voices which would not normally be heard - or voices which would be confined to the pub, and only let loose on the unfortunate visitor. If you've ever been standing in a pub, and some chap begins a conversation with you at the bar, talking about the weather, football, politics or even the lousy beer, you can now tell him to twitter off. Prior to the advent of Twitter, a polite nodding of the head, and concerned look of agreement would suffice before parting company from the twit and escaping to a quiet corner to enjoy your drink. Now you can say - "Hold on, can you say that in 140 characters, and if so why not twitter off! Your words will go global. Why tell it to me - when you can tell it to the world!" This is my stock reply to boring barflies. In the past I would have been polite but distant. Now, thanks to Twitter, I make the bearer look important. I tell him that people globally would love to hear what he had for lunch, or the time they had to wait for a bus, or what they thought of Johnny Nobody on Pop-Factor-Idol-X-Talent-Celebrity-Big Brother, and all they had to do was open up their laptop/net-book/I-Pad/I-thing and go for it! People who desire attention in the virtual world, love it even more in the real one. How great to use Twitter as a complement to their thoughts and expressions. Next time you walk into a pub, with your real newspaper (how cool is that), take a seat, and if your not reading, observe all those around you chatting away on their phones, playing with their devices, and notice that they are alone. Alone - but not alone, because all their friends are somewhere else, away, far away, but close enough to care about what they tweet!

Tweeting what! Twitter your heart until the twit did tawoo... Is tweeting the lesser evil to poking until blue.
Good Job with the shakespear thingy LOL
Personally I think William Shakespeare would have loved to listen to what someone had for lunch or that someone had to wait for a bus (whatever that is). My guess is he would have a lot of followers on Twitter as well. Of course he had enough imagination to see the drama in it all. Two tweets is 280 characters to count them that far If you can't stand the chatter stay out of the bar. ....or at least bring an iPod to listen to.
